Welcome to the Cruz-Martín Neural Circuits Lab
We are a dynamic and collaborative research group dedicated to understanding how neural circuits are wired, maintained, and disrupted in disease. Our work focuses on the cellular and molecular mechanisms that govern brain connectivity, with the goal of uncovering how these processes go awry in conditions such as schizophrenia, Alzheimer's disease, and other neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders.

Lab members use a range of cutting-edge techniques, including in vivo two-photon calcium imaging, STED super-resolution microscopy, optogenetics, viral circuit tracing, single-cell transcriptomics, and spatial transcriptomics. We integrate these approaches to gain deep insight into neural circuit function and plasticity at multiple scales.

Whether you are a student, postdoc, or collaborator, joining our lab means contributing to a supportive environment that values innovation, mentorship, and scientific excellence. We welcome motivated individuals who share our passion for advancing neuroscience and improving human health.
